Texas weather can have a mind of its own. Especially in the Fall.
While afternoons are often pleasant and warm, evenings can quickly become chilly, leaving many of us Texans wishing we would have remembered to grab a jacket or a hoodie before we ventured out.
Carrie Ermence, owner of Lone Star Roots, a DFW-based company that specializes in fashionable, humorous and vintage Texas T-Shirts, hats and gifts, has seen first-hand how nice weather can turn chilly on a dime.
“When we were out at festivals last Fall, the evening would settle in and it would be freezing outside,” she said “Mornings are cool this time of year and the afternoons are warm but come evening, it can get pretty cold. When the weather turns, turn to a Lone Star Roots hoodie.
Like many great ideas, Lone Star Roots in Frisco was born over garage talk and drinks.
“After such a hot summer, I think everyone is ready for cooler weather and hoodie season,” Carrie said.
Get your hoodie on
It’s not like having something warm to wear during a festival is the only reason to wear a hoodie in North Texas.
“It’s that time of year to cheer on your favorite football team or gather around the fire . I mean who doesn’t love to sit around a great fire to make smores and marshmallows,” Carrie said. “It’s time for us to bring back the campfire hoodie and give it the attention it deserves.”
Lucky for all of those hoodie fans, Lone Star Roots has lots of options. Here are some of their more popular hoodies:
“We are proud of the fact that we have been able to establish ourselves around the state of Texas,” Carrie said. “It’s not just about revenue, it’s about our platform and giving back to causes we care about while continuing to make memories as a family. We love meeting new customers as well as welcoming back those who have become like family. You’ll often see Mark, Jack and Taylor at pop ups laughing along with customers. Our favorite customers are those who love to laugh with us."
Two of the many organizations they give to include the American Heart Association and Refresh Frisco. Just this week, the Celina ISD School Board awarded Lone Star Roots with a plaque for giving back to teachers.
Carrie is also involved with a variety of organizations like the Frisco Chamber of Commerce Women Enhancing Business and recently took part in the Up Close with PGA of America’s Women Leaders event in Frisco where she got the chance to speak about Lone Star Roots and give away the popular Friscolebrity shirt and Lone Star Roots gear.
